Highlights

Mental Health Awareness Month

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Throughout the month of May, Wellbeing Services will share information on self-care tips, resources, on-campus support and ways to advocate for Mental Health. Students can keep up with all upcoming Wellbeing events on RowdyLink.

Students can also apply to be a Mental Health Peer Advocate to support other students while gaining health education experience. Wellbeing Services will give peer advocates the skills to advocate for mental health resources, meet one-on-one in student support meetings, and promote our on-campus health clinics to the campus community. Students can apply on RowdyLink through the end of May.

Mail Forward for Summer

As your Roadrunner prepares to move back home for the summer, make sure your student changes their mailing address to wherever they will be residing this summer. This will allow them to make sure they receive their mail and packages as planned!

Bicycle Drop-Off

If your student is leaving campus after finals for a few weeks or the whole summer, they can take advantage of free bike storage at the Main and Downtown Campuses! The UTSA Police Department will store the bike in a secure location, safe and indoors, while your student is away. Bikes are accepted at the Bosque Building. Learn more on the UTSAPD website or call (210) 458-4242.

Ensure Nothing Gets Left Behind This Semester

As the summer approaches, here are some important reminders to ensure a smooth departure for your students. Firstly, be sure they collect all belongings before leaving their residence halls or apartments. If they happen to forget anything in a dorm, don't worry—just reach out to Housing and Residence Life for assistance. Secondly, if they have misplaced an item on campus within the last 90 days, make sure they check with the UTSAPD Lost and Found, located in the Bosque Building on Main Campus. Alternatively, they can submit a Lost Property report via the Public Safety website. Let's make sure everything is taken care of before we bid farewell for the summer!

Conversation Starters With Your Roadrunner

As the Spring semester comes to an end, continuing and graduating students will look to shift their focus on the future. Continuing students will be returning home, enjoying the summer break, or focusing on future career experiences. Graduates should focus on their job search or continued studies with graduate school.

Your Roadrunner may also be returning home. Discuss their plans for the summer and how you can best support them. Consider how you will all adjust to living in shared space again if they are moving back home.

We have several different conversation starters for you this month!

February conversations

All Students

  • How do you feel about how this year went?
  • Now that you are back home, what will our expectations be of each other to readjust to shared living space?
  • What classes are you going to take next semester?

Graduating Roadrunners

  • How do you plan to relax after the semester as you continue to job search or start your new job/degree?
  • What will you miss most about being in school?
